Most of us do not realise that the invention of the toilet was not a great thing for our body. In order to evacuate with ease we should be squatting. There is a muscle around the colon called the puborectalis and, in some of us, this muscle is a little too tight. When we squat this muscle naturally releases allowing the waste to flow through the colon easier. Some find more of a difference than others in the squatting position but believe me it really can make it easier!
