Over centuries, in many cultures, it has been the norm to cleanse the body at the change of the coming season. Why you may ask?
If you think about it, it makes sense. As Spring arrives we have the joy of longer days and warmer weather so the type of clothes we wear and the layering changes. Many in the UK suffer from SAD so the sun appearing makes an enormous difference to our mood, our
energy and how we view our day. These people have lower than average Vitamin D levels, which we absorb from the sun, so again our low levels are replaced and we feel rejuvenated.
The clocks change, our sleep alters, so we find a new rhythm. We may rise earlier and go to bed later and the quality of our sleep may improve. The food we choose to eat changes too, no more stodge or comfort foods but healthy light meals with plenty of the good stuff. We socialise and we feel open to meeting friends and spend more time outdoors and we exercise more.
All this is good but the body has to readjust and this means that all our body systems have to work exceptionally hard to deal with these changes. To help the body cope many cultures have traditionally fasted, purged, cleansed etc to rid the body of the previous season’s accumulations. In this country we are gradually beginning to understand that fasting or cleansing isn’t such a bad thing but actually health enhancing. There are many self help books but if you would like a simple cleanse then why not download mine. And of course to enhance the cleansing and fasting process don’t forget colonic hydrotherapy…………..
